E.ON energy efficiency network “Südostbayern vernetzt sich” exceeds savings targets

After three years, the energy efficiency network “Südostbayern vernetzt sich” came to an end in November 2022. The set targets of a final energy saving of 17,000 MWh/a and an emission reduction of 4,000 t CO2/a were clearly exceeded.

Savings targets exceeded

After the start of the network in October 2019, the initial situation regarding energy consumption was recorded as part of the target-setting workshops with the participating companies. The 12 participating companies had a cumulative final energy consumption of around 1 million MWh/a at the start of the network. This corresponds to the total energy consumption of more than 50,000 4-person households.

In order to reduce this, almost 200 realistically implementable measures were jointly identified. At the end of the network period, most of these measures were implemented despite the Corona pandemic, resulting in annual final energy savings of 22,000 MWh/a and 6,600 t CO2/a.

In addition, the targets set were thus exceeded by almost 30 % (reduction in final energy consumption) and 65 % (emissions reduction).
