(Presentations of Serafin von Roon and Michael Beer at the Summer School on Modelling in Energy Science, 1st to 3rd of July 2009)
DTU, TU/e, TUM all have significant activities in the field of sustainable energy and all three acquired an international reputation in this field. Hence, the energy subject is eminently suitable as the first area in which the universities seek a strong cooperation by starting a Graduate School in Sustainable Energy.
A first step is to describe and analyse the profiles of expertise at all partner universities. It is important that in an early state many participating colleagues exchange information on their actual research fields, on existing activities like local graduate schools, organisation frames and last but not least to create and intensify further personal contacts. As a first activity a Summer School on Modelling in Energy Science was held from 1st to 3rd of July 2009 at TU München.
