Flexible Operation of Cogeneration Plants - Chances for the Integration of Renewables?

Contribution of Michael Beer, Matthias Huber, Wolfgang Mauch to the 11th IAEE Conference 2010

The 11th IAEE European conference with the topic “Energy Economy, Policies and Supply Security: Surviving the Global Economic Crisis” took place in Vilnius at August 25 to 28, 2010. The Conference was attended by about 350 visitors, who were informed about current energy-related topics in Europe at 54 sessions.

The Research Center for Energy Economics published its latest results of the project “EnEff:city – opportunities and risks of CHP within the political framework” within the topic “FLEXIBLE OPERATION OF COGENERATION PLANTS - CHANCES FOR THE INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLES“. Besides presenting the general framework and the initial conditions, the presentation of the simulation model as well as the results of a scenario analysis were in main focus of the speech.
