eXtremOS - Country profiles of 16 European countries were developed

Main objective of the project eXtremOS is to investigate the value of flexibility in the context of European flexibility market coupling under extreme technological, regulatory and social developments. In this context, country profiles of 16 European countries were developed.

The latter can be used to analyse the current state of electricity markets and contain important energy economic indicators such as electricity prices and emission factors. Additionally, the countries´ current energy and climate targets and policies are summarised. Moreover, the country profiles provide a basis for further classification in a European context. The potentials for electrification and renewable energies as well as a “low-hanging fruits electrification” scenario were calculated. These are important factors concerning the future development of energy systems. Sources for the country profiles include own calculations, statistical data, other studies and literature.
