Regionalized Expansion Scenarios for Renewable Energy
The integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid poses major challenges for grid operators. The expansion must be modeled realistically in order to plan grid capacities with foresight and avoid bottlenecks. At the same time, the consideration of existing plants and area potential requires a precise, data-based approach.

Our offer
We offer detailed regionalization of the output of renewable energies with a focus on ground-mounted and building photovoltaics as well as onshore and offshore wind energy. Our models record existing renewable energy installations, evaluate the area potential and realistically forecast future expansion. For wind energy, a plant-specific analysis is carried out with site-specific wind farm configurations.
In addition to the spatial distribution of generation plants, we also model the temporal distribution of generation for you in the form of generation time series.
Our methodologically well-founded approach enables us to model the future expansion of renewable energy with a high spatial and temporal resolution and ensures that both short-term fluctuations and long-term developments are captured. This way, we provide grid operators, investors and political decision-makers with a solid planning foundation for a future-proof and sustainable electricity supply.
We have already successfully developed and implemented regional expansion scenarios for distribution and transmission system operators in numerous projects, for example as part of the Network Development Plan Electricity.
