Generation and Demand Analysis of Regionalized Potential at National and International Levels

Globally, green hydrogen is seen as playing a central role in the defossilization of processes and applications that are difficult to electrify. In order to fulfill this role, hydrogen production must be scaled up comprehensively in the coming years, both nationally and internationally. In this context, it is relevant for potential producers, infrastructure operators and consumers to understand at what costs and in what quantities green hydrogen can be produced in which regions in the future. Location factors such as the availability of renewable energies and the resulting cost-optimized RE plant configuration, the availability of suitable areas or country-specific investment risks play a role here. For producers and infrastructure operators, the estimation of future regionalized hydrogen requirements for site selection, customer identification and infrastructure planning is also of fundamental interest.

We offer you location-specific analyses of the respective hydrogen production costs and the optimal configuration of the associated renewable energy systems worldwide. By analyzing local land availability for hydrogen production and the associated renewable energy plants, suitable production areas can be defined and individually evaluated based on suitable location criteria. The combination of suitable areas and expected full load hours can also be used to determine the generation potential of entire regions and countries.

At national and European level, we can estimate the expected demand for hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives for you, taking into account a wide range of developments. Our energy system model maps the industry, transport, building and conversion sectors and provides hydrogen requirements at a high regional resolution based on sector-specific transformation assumptions.
