What is my vehicle-to-home potential?

In addition to developing bidirectional charging technologies, the Bidirectional Charging Management (BDL) research project also examined the revenue potential of bidirectional charging use cases. One of the use cases being investigated is Vehicle to Home.1  The FfE vehicle-to-home calculator makes the results of the BDL project accessible to users, considering their personal circumstances.

What is vehicle-to-home?

Vehicle to Home offers users the possibility to temporarily store surplus energy from their pv-system in his electric vehicle. At times of low pv-generation, the stored electricity can be withdrawn from the electric vehicle to operate electrical consumers. Users can thus increase the self-consumption of their pv‑system and reduce the amount of electricity they purchase.1
