Breaking down the National Hydrogen Strategy (NHS)

With the National Hydrogen Strategy (NHS), the German Federal Government has created a coherent framework of action to support the future production, transport, application, and further use of hydrogen and thus for corresponding innovations and investments. (BMWi)

The BMWi’s National Hydrogen Strategy provides an overall objective, but at the same time raises further questions:

  • What does the National Hydrogen Strategy actually entail in terms of implementation?
  • What guidelines does the National Hydrogen Strategy set, and what changes do they require?
  • What does the National Hydrogen Strategy mean in concrete terms for Germany’s production, transport, and consumption of hydrogen?
  • How do the mentioned core parameters of the National Hydrogen Strategy fit into the context of other studies and research results?
  • Where will the hydrogen required for the German hydrogen economy be produced?
  • What research and practical measures are taken within the framework of the National Hydrogen Strategy to achieve the market ramp-up of a hydrogen economy and the associated technology development in Germany?
  • What are the costs of the National Hydrogen Strategy measures?

Our infographic “Breaking Down the National Hydrogen Strategy” provides an overview of the answers to these and additional questions.
