Farewell and Honors: The Final Award Ceremony of the Solarenergieförderverein Bayern e.V. University Prize
On November 4, 2024, we had the honor of hosting the final award ceremony of the Solarenergieförderverein Bayern e.V. University Prize. This event marked the end of an era, as the association is now disbanding, leaving behind a profound legacy in supporting university research and fostering innovative projects.
The ceremony was moderated by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerd Becker, who, together with Dr. Bruno Schiebelsberger, the chairman of the association, highlighted the significance of this award and the association’s decades-long work. We are especially proud that two FfE research projects were among this year’s award winners:
FfE Award Winners:
- Tal Barak – Global Land Eligibility for Green Hydrogen Production: A Cost-Potential Curve Analysis (joining us live from Israel)
- Dr. Timo Kern – Assessment of the Added Value of Bidirectionally Chargeable Electric Vehicles for the User and the Energy System
Additional award winners and their recognized projects included:
- Andreas Holzer – Development of a Bidirectional DC/DC Converter for Modular Integration of PEM Electrolysis and Fuel Cell Stacks
- Jonatan Kindorf – Innovative Gateway for Integrating Second-Life Traction Batteries for Stationary Applications
- Markus Bernhard – Yield Analysis of a South-East North-Facing PV System, Comparing Theoretical vs. Actual Yields
Following the inspiring presentations and award ceremony, we concluded with a group photo, a joint reflection, and a relaxed “Come Together” to celebrate the awards and honor this meaningful final event.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this special moment possible!
