Buildings and Devices

The energy demand in buildings is mainly quantified by heating, cooling and ventilation. Apart from the constructional heat insulation, the installed building services and the efficiency of the devices affect the consumption. Despite increasingly strong regulations on the building standard in Germany and the improvement of devices, there is still a considerable energy-saving potential.

In recent years, increasing energy prices have made it clear, that the revelation of energy-saving potentials can contribute to high financial savings. The inefficient use of energy causes significant costs, which especially affect businesses and industrial companies. On the one hand, their energy consumption tends to be higher, and on the other hand they often operate several devices, which are not matched sufficiently.

Possible services of the Research Center for Energy Economics (FfE):

  • Development of concepts for the reduction of energy consumption and CO2-emissions

  • Design of building services

  • Optimization of the energy supply independently from energy carriers

  • Comparison of heat costs for various heating options

  • Discovery of heat losses by thermography

  • Planning of constructive and energetic building modernization

The Research Center for Energy Economics (FfE) as well as the affiliated company FfE GmbH has been conducting energy consulting for many years.
